Jen and Todd got married at Green Pastures, one of our favorite places to shoot weddings in Austin. The food is great, the people are friendly and the grounds have quite the variety for photographers looking for fun places to photograph the bride and groom. Down in South Austin, Green Pastures is a very good restaurant when it’s not hosting weddings, featuring a well known brunch Saturday and Sunday mornings.

I had shot Todd and Jennifer’s engagement which was mostly centered around South Austin which is always a fun place to shoot. Green Pastures is just down the way from SOCO in South Austin so we shot their engagement just around the corner from where their wedding took place.

It is odd for brides to do their own decorations and bouquets but Jennifer had a certain idea in mind for decoration that I think she just figured was easier to do than try and explain to someone else. It looked very classy.

The bride was escorted down the isle by her father and step-father and after a moving ceremony where Todd and Jennifer exchanged their vows the couple left to the sounds of a local Austin mariachi band in honor of Jennifer’s Mexican heritage. Kisses and hugs were exchanged immediately after and the newlyweds entered their reception to dine with their guests and enjoy the wonderful meal prepared by Green Pastures. They cut cakes, gave toasts and danced until they brought down the house then exited in a pedicab to the San Jose Hotel.
