We were so blessed to get to work with Amanda and Andy, one of the sweetest couples ever! They found us through their venue, the Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs Mansion, and we’re so glad they did! We first really got to know them at their engagement session at the Texas Capitol which turned out fantastically. Having met at UT, it’s obvious they are diehard Longhorns. We loved how they carried that through to the wedding day with the best Bevo cake we have ever seen! The day of the wedding went off without a hitch, thanks to one of our favorite wedding planners, the lovely Rosa with Austin Wedding Planners. We always recommend that couples hire a wedding planner, especially if they have a multi-location wedding day with getting ready at one or two different locations, a church ceremony, and a reception venue like Amanda and Andy had. It saves the bride (and her mother!) so much stress on the wedding day, not to mention that all the other wedding vendors appreciate working with an experienced wedding planner instead of having to bother the bride and groom about any issues that may come up. Amanda’s parents had gotten married at St. Mary’s Cathedral, so it was incredibly special to her and her family that the wedding ceremony took place there. As she told us at our first meeting, the most important shot of the whole wedding to Amanda was the look on Andy’s face as he saw her walk down the aisle. Well, as you can see, he was positively beaming as he saw his beautiful bride walking towards him and their life together. After the formal pictures were done at the church, we all headed to the Mansion and were blown away by how amazing the ballroom looked with gold chiavari chairs, turquoise accents, and those luscious blooms. The classic, elegant theme of the wedding was carried throughout every detail from Amanda’s gorgeous, off the shoulder beaded wedding gown, to the exquisite table centerpieces, and we loved incorporating the ballroom decor in our romantic photo session with the couple. Happily, we also had time for a couple other locations around this very picturesque venue to take pictures of the bride and groom. The reception started off with the bride and groom’s first dance as a married couple to Switchfoot’s “On Fire” and then went right into the father/daughter and mother/son dances to “Butterfly Kisses” and “Never Alone”. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house including mine! After dinner, it was time to get the party started! The guests were such a fun bunch of folks who really knew how to cut a rug. Even Mom and Grandma and Grandpa got out on the dance floor and strutted their stuff! It seemed like the night was over way too soon, and the happy couple joyously ran through the sparklers and off to their honeymoon. God bless y’all, Andy and Amanda and your life together!
