Since our first meeting with Martha and Ruben which lasted over an hour and half, we have enjoyed every minute we have spent with them. Every time Ruben and Martha have come by the studio, we end up talking for at least 45 minutes. We share an obsessive love of food which we talk about incessantly. Ruben and Martha met in the catering business when they both worked at the Hyatt. Ruben is now a chef at Whole Foods, and we knew at our first meeting that we had spoken with him at Whole Foods before. Having a ton a wedding experience under their belt, they wanted a unique wedding with fabulous food, so they chose Hamilton Twelve as their wedding venue. For those of you who don’t know, Hamilton Twelve has the best in house catering in Austin.
Martha spent her adolescence in Puerto Rico where her parents were college professors. Her best friends from high school in Puerto Rico got to come to the wedding and be her bridesmaids. It was the first time they have all been together in years, and what a celebration it was! Ruben is from south Texas and spoke Spanish along with most everyone else at the wedding. As usual, the food at Hamilton Twelve was unbelievable: paella cooked over an open fire. We had the pleasure of working with Design by Sage for the first time who did an amazing job with the flowers and event design. Everyone rocked out to their band, the Bus Stop Stallions into the wee hours. The guests had a blast in our photobooth as well.
