Ashley and Long got married on a beautiful December day at Nature’s Point. It was the lovely, mild kind of winter day on Lake Travis that reminds us why we moved from Oregon to Texas. Definitely one of our favorite venues here in the Austin area, Nature’s Point offers more than one ceremony site, all lovely in their own way. For their ceremony, Ashley and Long chose the lower deck which directly overlooks Lake Travis and offers a stunning view, as you can see. The bride and groom and nearly all their friends and family were coming in from out of town which seems to be the case for many of the weddings we photograph at Nature’s Point. It is such a unique wedding venue, and the couples who get married there love that their guests get to experience it in all its beauty, especially its proximity to the lake. Nature’s Point recently switched to exclusively in-house catering, and this wedding was the first for us where Nature’s Point was doing the catering. I am happy to report that it was fantastic all around, and we are looking forward to many more weddings catered by Nature’s Point. One really fun aspect of the wedding was the non-traditional dessert that the bride and groom opted for. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, they got insanely decadent donuts from the quintessentially Austin-y Gourdough’s. The chocolate donuts were covered with crumpled fudge Oreos and gummy snakes, and the plain ones, if you can call them that, were covered with cherry pie filling. As you can imagine, they were quite a hit with the guests! During the reception we set up a photobooth, which also was heavily enjoyed by the guests, especially a few adorable little relatives of the groom. We really enjoyed getting to know Ashley and Long, and their families, and we wish them a lifetime of happiness together.
