This was one of the most interesting weddings I’ve shot in some time! Katherine and Ed had kind of a steampunk themed wedding. If you’re unclear on what steampunk is, click on the link and it will all make sense to you. They didn’t go hardcore steampunk and instead had elements of it in different ways at the wedding.
A very simple ceremony took place in the church at Star Hill Ranch with a ring warming where every guest took the rings and blessed them. After the ceremony the reception has some of the coolest things in the world: Mexican Coke and Dublin Dr. Pepper! If you don’t know what these are, it is worth doing the research so that you too can enjoy the magic that comes along with these sugar filled sodas.
During the reception a Say Cheese for Fun photo booth was running with hats, spectacles and fake guns and mustaches provided by Toy Joy, an eclectic toy store filled with all kinds of goofy toys from 30-years-ago. Hilarious pictures were produced that were put into a guestbook with special messages from the guests.
At the end of the wedding Katherine distributed glow-in-the-dark sticks that interrconnect for everyone to wave when they exited Star Hill Ranch.
And if you look really close you can even see a picture of myself in there.
