Matt and Christie had such a fabulous wedding, and we enjoyed working with their coordinator, Barbara, of Barbara’s Brides so much. Matt’s very good friend, Shannon, who was his honor attendant, made Christie an exquisite bridal hairpiece. Check out her Etsy page! Christie and her gals looked absolutely stunning thanks to the hair and makeup expertise of Angela with Lucie Marie. The touching ceremony in the Grand Ballroom at 1900 University Avenue was officiated by the pastor from Christie’s childhood church. Then right as the happy couple was walking down the aisle, the UT Band marched in and played the “Eyes of Texas!” It was a phenomenal surprise from the groom to his bride. As you can see from the lawn gnomes, they are a house divided between Notre Dame and UT, so it was definitely more significant for the bride! At their engagement session, Matt had told us all about the fabulous Dr. Who groom’s cake that The Cake Plate was going to make for him. Boy, he was not kidding! The TARDIS cake complete with bride and groom Daleks was unbelievably cool! The bride’s cake was pretty neat too. Thanks to the in house uplighting, the Grand Ballroom gleamed with the color of TARDIS blue, another awesome Dr. Who touch to the wedding. The gorgeous centerpieces from Wendee Sawran were the perfect complement. Greenbelt DJ rocked it out during the reception as always, which is why they are one of our favorite DJs. We wish Matt and Christie many happy years together, but things might get a little rocky when UT plays Notre Dame!
