We love how one wedding leads to another! We were blessed to photograph Shannon and Reese’s elopement and then their friends Stephen and Sarah’s wedding the next year. Stephen and Sarah happen to run a fabulous catering company, Sicola’s Garden House, and they referred us to Heather and Matt, who got married in Austin this spring. This lovely couple was planning a beautiful, organic feeling wedding at Mayfield Park, and we were so excited to be their photographers! It felt like everything about the day was just magical. Heather looked like a wood nymph from Greek mythology in her delicate pink wedding gown from Etsy, and the gorgeous, whimsical florals from Magpie Blossoms were beyond swoon worthy. Heather and her gals got all dolled up at Black Orchid Salon in South Austin and made their way to the ceremony by Austin Trolley Company. It was such a sweet and touching ceremony, and the peacocks roaming around made it that much more enchanting. The catering from Sicola’s was out of this world, and they put together a completely customized menu. Matt has so many fond memories of doing oyster shooters with his dad, they had to have them at the wedding for appetizers. I just love seeing how every couple makes their wedding unique and meaningful to themselves and their families. As wedding photographers, we never drink while we’re working, but we were excited to see this fabulous local kombucha at the bar and indulged in a glass or two. And this adorable Dia de los Muertos cake? It was completely vegan and appropriately custom made by Skull and Cakebones along with these delicious and multi-flavored cupcakes. Then the fun on the dance floor got started! DJ Kristen and Deseree Fawn of Dance Loud came all the way down from Chicago to play at their friends’ wedding. It was so great to see everyone having such a good time and sharing the joy with Heather and Matt!
