Claire and Ben came to us from their friends, Karen and Charles, whose wedding we photographed at St. Austin Church and Kindred Oaks in the winter of 2013. Since neither of them lived in Austin at the time, they booked us over the phone, and we met them for the first time at the wedding. We were excited to be doing another delightful wedding at St. Austin’s with the reception at one of our favorite wedding venues, the Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs Mansion. The priest who married them was an old friend of Ben’s family, and the personal touch he brought to the ceremony made it a real tearjerker. Once a fabulous dinner from Pink Avocado was eaten, the party really got started thanks to DJ Byrne Rock. As the bride and groom danced their first dance, you could feel the love in the ballroom from all their friends and family. The love in the room was truly palpable, and this wedding was truly a celebration in every sense of the word. The only possible conflict was that Claire is an Aggie and Ben is a longhorn, but they’ve got their whole lives together to work that out! Thank you so much, Claire and Ben, for letting be a part of your beautiful wedding day!
