Jessica’s bridal portrait session took place at Garden Grove Austin during spring. This is one of my favorite shoots this month. The bride was incredibly comfortable in front of the camera and enjoyed the attention during the shoot. She attended Mary Hardin Baylor where she became a member of Alpha Chi before beginning her career as a nurse.
Jessica met her fiance, Patrick at a mutual friend’s wedding a year ago. They have become inseparable and are planning a fall wedding, when the Texas weather cools off.
For many brides, this session helps show how a gown, veil, jewelry, and bouquet work together. It is a useful opportunity to explore different settings and see how easy it is to move in the dress. It also gives us a great opportunity to create pictures of the bride without stress.
Garden Grove Austin offered both indoor spaces and landscaped garden areas for Jessica’s portraits. That variety kept the session moving without relying on one backdrop.
Jessica’s spring session was a fitting lead-in to her planned fall wedding with Patrick. Garden Grove Austin provided plenty of room for that variety.

A seated indoor portrait let the bouquet and veil share the frame with Jessica’s lace gown.

The carved mirror introduced a second view of Jessica and her bouquet within the same portrait.

Reflections worked especially well with the room’s dark wood details and pale walls.

The tall interior added scale around the gown’s full skirt, veil, and colorful flowers.

Black-and-white portraits brought attention to the dress texture, jewelry, and sweeping veil.

An iron arch provided another structured setting, with greenery appearing beyond the architectural details.

The landscaped garden offered flowering beds and a softer background for outdoor bridal portraits.

Large tropical leaves framed Jessica’s final garden portraits and echoed the bouquet’s vivid colors.
